Shandong Lunan New Materials Co., Ltd. (“Lunan New Materials”) has recently announced new progress in its industrial development. The No. 22 paper machine, a key production line under the company’s major technical upgrading project, has successfully completed its full-line trial run, with all operating parameters meeting the designed standards.
The successful trial run marks a significant step toward the commercial operation of Lunan New Materials’ 120,000-ton annual premium specialty paper project, representing another important achievement in the company’s capacity expansion and technological development in the high-end specialty paper sector.

As a key project supporting Lunan New Materials’ expansion into the high-end specialty paper market, the 120,000-ton annual premium specialty paper project has previously completed the public disclosure stage for its environmental impact assessment review. The assessment was undertaken by the Linyi Institute of Environmental Protection Sciences. The project strictly follows relevant regulations, including the Environmental Impact Assessment Law of the People’s Republic of China, while balancing production capacity expansion with green and sustainable development.
The No. 22 paper machine, which successfully completed its trial run, serves as a core production unit of the project. It is designed for the production of high-end products such as decorative base paper and electrolytic capacitor paper, and integrates advanced technologies including intelligent temperature control and online thickness monitoring. These technologies help ensure consistent product quality while improving energy efficiency, reducing consumption, and achieving compliant pollutant emissions, in line with the project’s environmental protection requirements for green manufacturing.
With years of experience in the R&D and production of specialty paper, Lunan New Materials is an established company in China’s decorative base paper and electronic specialty paper sectors. The successful trial run of the No. 22 paper machine will not only expand the company’s high-end specialty paper production capacity and further enrich its product portfolio, but also accelerate the overall implementation of the 120,000-ton annual premium specialty paper project.
According to the company, the next step will be to accelerate full-load commissioning of the production line and continue driving product upgrades through technological innovation. Leveraging the project’s new production capabilities, Lunan New Materials will provide higher-quality material solutions for downstream industries, including decoration and electronic components, while contributing to the transformation of the regional specialty paper industry toward higher-end, greener development.
